The industrial looking buildings just outside of the city centre are still in demand. From the iconic St George’s Island to the new Roof Gardens development the sites are ever popular and the area is still expanding. Canal bars/restaurants such as Dukes 92, Albert’s Shed and The Banyan Tree have been staples for years and the buzz of the city centre is a 5 minute walk away. Crystal Maze, Museum of Science and Industry and Spinningfields are on the doorstep as well as several delicious restaurants on Liverpool Road; Akbars, Cibo, Dimitri’s, Don Marco and Sapporo Tappenyaki.

With the ongoing expansion, including the not-yet-completed Deansgate Square (which looks set to be epic), this area is fast becoming more than just a trend.

Castlefield was home to the world’s first industrial canal and the site of the Roman era fort of Mamucium
